DAY 1(14th Sept) – Nairobi to Moshi
Departure at 8am from Nairobi via the scheduled shuttle bus to Moshi. Overnight will be in Moshi
Day 2(15th Sept) -Moshi-machame gate-machame hut
Departure from Moshi at 0800hrs for the Machame park gate for registration and starting off the climb. Today’s hike will be amongst the giant trees for about 4 -5hours. Picnic lunch enroute, Dinner and Overnight at Machame camp 3000m
Day 3(16th Sept): Machame hut to shira
After breakfast, you climb out of the rain forest and into a moorland zone. After 5 hours hike, have Picnic lunch and arrive at the Shira plateau – Shira hut at 3840m for dinner and overnight
Day 4(17th Sept): Shira camp to ballanco approx 6-7hrs
Depart from Shira camp after breakfast and head towards Kibo. After about 2 hours, gain altitude sharply toward Lava Tower 4570meters. Descend to Barranco Camp at 3930m. Dinner and Overnight at ballanco 3930m
Day 5(18th Sept): ballanco-karanga-barafu hut
After breakfast, You’ll head to karanga taking about 3-4 hrs trek, stop for lunch, then proceed to barafu camp for about 3hrs. Dinner and Overnight will be at Barafu camp 4600M
Day 6(19th Sept): barafu camp- SUMMIT –mweka camp
On this day, you’ll be woken up at 2300hrs(of Day 5) and start the summit trek by 2330hrs aiming to get to the summit by sunrise. It’s a steep and difficult hike of approximately 5 hours to the Kilimanjaro’s crater rim at Stella Point. Then proceed on to reach Uhuru peak approximately 50mins from Stella point. Amazing moments as you officially accomplishment a lifetime moment of reaching Africa’s highest point(Uhuru peak) at 5895m! Take photos and enjoy the sunrise! After summiting, turn back to Barafu for full breakfast then down further to Mweka approx 2.5hrs to Camp. Dinner and rest at Mweka camp 3100m
Day 7(20th Sept): Mweka camp to gate & exit
After an early breakfast, it is a short and scenic hike back to the park gate for 2 .5 to 3hrs. You’ll exit the gate of Kilimanjaro having conquered Africa’s highest mountain! It is an achievement and you’ll be awarded with a certificate by the Kilimanjaro National park authorities. The certificate carries lifetime memories of this achievement! You’ll then drive back to Moshi for the night
Day 8(21st Sept):
Breakfast then departure from Moshi and back to Nairobi after conquering Africa’s highest point!
